BODY / HEART / SOUL CARE

You need witness for wonder. Some things in life are too hard to see by yourself because they take up the whole sky, or because they happen every day, unwinding above your busyness, or because you thought you knew them already. Wonder takes a willingness to be uncertain, to be thrown.

deep listening, bodywork and energy medicine

for clarity & resilience

I bring to my sessions my ability to anchor myself in clarity, see people for the unique beings that they are, and accompany you while you seek deeper meaning, growth or clarity in your life.

I’m trained in trauma-informed energy medicine, death & grief midwifery, and radical life coaching… but really I think of myself as someone who enjoys taking really good care of others and has great intuition. I see myself as a witness, guide and supporter of your process. I excel at working with people who are in very tender places. And people who are in transitional places - entering new territory or becoming new versions of themselves. Highly sensitive people seem to be drawn to me too.

BODY—HEART—SOUL sessions are:

  • Talking & listening ~ exploring through layers of feelings, thoughts and knowing to help you find clarity, ease or more spaciousness in whatever you are experiencing

  • Hands-on bodywork (gentle: mostly acupressure points, massage of the cranial bones, breathing techniques) and energy medicine (subtle, calming) to regulate and calm the nervous system so that we can sort through what the heart and soul has to say

  • Deep care during times of stress, transformation, rebirth, grief, overwhelm, numbness, confusion, joy, exhaustion or quiet hibernation (all the time)

    1. Compassion for ourselves as we untangle our patterns and ways of relating to the world and others. Understanding that our patterns are often brilliant coping mechanisms for getting our needs met.  I believe in the deep healing that comes understanding ourselves - why we act the way we do. We are surviving in a world that always challenges us (to say the least), and we are imperfect humans who were raised by other imperfect humans.

    2. Emotion is energy, motivation is energy, trauma is energy, and the body is energy… and energy can be organized. To me, practicing energy medicine is just like being an organizing wizard. Where did that come from? Where does that belong? Is that yours?

    3. Placing ourselves in the context of the world (culture, history, systemic oppression, capitalism, nature, etc) that we live in helps us to become more clear about who we are, where we need more resilience and care, and what our soul is here to do.

    4. Oftentimes we need to calm our nervous systems and ease our primal brains (fight/flight/freeze) before we can delve into emotional work, or more nuanced exploration.

    5. Our deepest pains, traumas, and frustrations often point to our soul speak our guiding light to what is most important to us, our greatest gifts, and what gives our lives meaning.

    6. The goal is more resilience, not “perfect healing” or the hope of being able to function perfectly in a society and world that is inherently unsafe and flawed.

    7. We need each other. I have unraveled and soothed a lot of my own pain and trauma by myself, but there came a point when there was only so much I could do alone. My most powerful and sacred healing moments happened when I felt that someone else truly “had me” so that I could fall apart. Or when I witnessed someone else falling apart and being held. We need to fall apart to find our way through. It is my honor to hold this kind of space for other people, should they need it.

    8. I take safety seriously, but I also know that I cannot truly know what safety means for another person (or is it even possible?). So I lean on communication, consent and following your lead.

    9. Life is a mystery, and I have faith. I have faith in your process, even if we can’t see the path through yet. We are all on our own unique journeys. There are so many great unanswerable questions.  Surrendering and flowing with the mystery is what gives me the courage to do this work.
